Your Questions andwered with expert care

Do I need to visit the clinic in person, or can I schedule a telehealth appointment?
The choice is yours! Almanac offers both in-person office visits and virtual telehealth appointments. We will collaborate with you to find an appointment time that fits seamlessly into your schedule. For the greatest scheduling flexibility, we highly recommend choosing our telehealth option.
Are Almanac providers available during evenings or weekends?
Almanac standard appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday during normal business hours. However, select providers within our group do offer evening sessions to accommodate busy schedules. For specific therapist availability and to explore our current scheduling options, please contact Almanac directly
Do Almanac providers specialize in men, women, or children?
Yes, Almanac supports individuals of all ages, including men, women, adults, adolescents, and young children. Our multidisciplinary group includes dedicated specialists in infant mental health, pediatrics, general adult psychiatry, women’s wellness, health-related challenges, parenting support, and couples counseling
Can I use my health insurance at Almanac?
Almanac is a fee-for-service practice and does not contract directly with any insurance companies. Because we are an out-of-network provider, we provide you with all necessary documentation (superbills) to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement, which many of our patients do successfully.Almanac also accepts Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). To accommodate different budgets, we offer services at various investment levels across our team, which includes psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed counselors, and supervised trainees. Please contact our office to get a breakdown of fees for your specific clinical needs.Under the federal No Surprises Act, healthcare practices must provide transparent, upfront pricing to patients who are not using insurance. You have the legal right to receive a Good Faith Estimate showing the expected cost of your care before your treatment begins, as well as updated estimates if your treatment plan changes. At Almanac, every service is billed individually, and you are free to pause or discontinue your care at any time. We will always inform you of the exact session fee before you schedule, and you will collaborate directly with your provider to decide on a session frequency that works for you.
How do I know if Almanac is the right fit for my needs?
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming and confusing when you first start searching. To simplify this process, Almanac offers personalized guidance and education over the phone before you ever book a session. We want to answer all of your questions directly so you feel completely comfortable moving forward. When you contact Almanac by phone or email, our Office Manager and Intake Coordinator will respond promptly to explain how our practice operates. She will gather a few details to connect you with the specific therapist in our group who best suits your needs. If Almanac turns out to not be the right match for you, we will gladly provide outside referrals to specialists who can help. Our ultimate goal is ensuring individuals and families successfully connect with the exact mental health support they need.
How do I submit for out-of-network insurance reimbursement?
To use your out-of-network benefits, you will pay Almanac directly for your session, and we will provide you with an itemized receipt called a superbill. You then submit this document directly to your insurance company to request reimbursement. Before your first appointment, Almanac highly recommends calling your insurance provider to ask these three essential questions to verify your exact coverage: Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits? (Specifically ask if they cover billing codes for your expected service, such as a psychiatric evaluation or 45-minute therapy session). How much will I be reimbursed? (Find out if they pay a specific percentage of the total bill or a flat rate per session).Do I have an out-of-network deductible? (Ask if you must spend a specific amount out-of-pocket before your reimbursement checks begin).
What is neuropsychological or psychoeducational testing?
Almanac evaluation services are specialized assessments designed to measure the cognitive, academic, behavioral, and emotional well-being of both children and adults. These comprehensive tests help identify learning differences, attentional struggles, and emotional patterns so we can build a precise, targeted roadmap for your support.
How many sessions will I need?
Because every individual is unique, your therapist will design a highly personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. Growth takes time. Much like learning a new skill or training for a sport, the more energy and consistency you invest in the process, the more progress you will see.Therapy naturally moves in phases. It typically takes a few initial sessions to complete the intake process, build comfort, and fully experience the rhythm of working with your provider. For this reason, Almanac encourages all new clients to commit to at least 2 to 4 sessions before making final decisions about the long-term frequency or direction of their treatment.
